Attorney Jessica Rider is a junior associate at Rider Clayton LLC. Jessica joined the firm in 2024, and supports Rider Clayton’s commercial real estate practice by coordinating foundational legal work and assisting with transaction management.

Prior to working in real estate, Jessica was a litigator representing the interests of major healthcare companies in high-stakes disputes. That fast-paced environment sharpened Jessica’s natural strengths: problem-solving, clear and effective communication, and performing accurately and efficiently under pressure. While she valued the intensity of litigation, Jessica was drawn to transactional work for its collaborative nature and the opportunity to creatively structure deals and advocate for her clients to help them achieve long-term goals.

Jessica’s work at Rider Clayton involves supporting the contract negotiation process by reviewing and organizing critical transaction documents, preparing summaries and checklists, and tracking key deadlines to keep projects moving forward. In complex, multi-party transactions, she is instrumental in facilitating communication among clients, title companies, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders. She also conducts preliminary due diligence and manages filings.

With a detail-oriented and collaborative approach to practice, Jessica’s primary focus is on responding to client needs and advancing their goals. Commercial real estate transactions are complex and can easily stall or go off the rails if not managed carefully. Jessica takes seriously her role in making sure each part of a transaction moves forward smoothly, minimizing risk and reducing stress for clients while supporting the team with organization, communication and follow-through.

Jessica enjoys the dynamic nature of commercial real estate transactions; each matter involves unique challenges and opportunities to advance client goals. When not working, Jessica enjoys spending time outdoors, especially cycling; she combines her loves of sport, adventure and culture in traveling to watch the Tour de France. Most of all, she values time spent with her family, including her husband, three children, and dogs. Jessica is also an avid photographer who has learned to see the world from different perspectives, both through the lens and in her legal work.
